TSUKUTTE-YA is a store created to meet a wish, a need formulated by partners of MASH Corporation. MASH Corporation, a Japanese company located in Osaka,Japan and founder of TSUKUTTE-YA store, has been working in the event industry for over 40 years. Among the more than 300 events organized annually, the presence of Japanese craftsmen, creators or artists is required for artistic workshops, performances, etc.

During discussions with our craftsmen, creators, artists, and non-Japanese participants in our events we were able to notice two limits to our work:

1/ Not all artisans, creators and artists have the language skills to reach an international audience.

2/ Except for foreigners present in Japan at the venue of the events, it is difficult or even impossible for them to have the same experience outside of Japan.

In order to respond to the desire of craftsmen and others to reach an international audience and to let this audience keep experiencing Japanese culture from their country of origin, the idea of ​​creating the DIY kit shop TSUKUTTE-YA was born.

Assembling a kit from home and participating to a workshop with professionals is not the same in all aspects. To overcome it, we made a point to present each of our creators and partners who are behind each kit because we are convinced that the link between makers and creators is important. And who better than the creator of the kit to explain the art and the traditional culture related to it?

MASH Corporation's slogan "世の中を少しだけ楽しくしてみたい" (Yo no naka wo sukoshi dake tanoshiku shitemitai) can be translated into English as: "Let us bring a little more joy into the world!". We want through the experience of TSUKUTTE-YA kits and through Japanese culture to bring smiles and beautify the lives of people around the world.
